Tatreez Aman Aman are taking over Stour Space again this Friday playing you music spanning many worlds and genres whilst baking delicious Palestinian delights. They have 2 brilliant bands set to make the night a one to remember.
Starting off the night will be Justin and the Argonauts
Justin and the Argonauts are a four-piece ensemble based in the south east of England. Comprised of violin, accordion, guitar, tuba and vocals, they play an eclectic blend of fast paced tango, classical, klezmer and out there pop as you’ve never heard it before. They have been dazzling audiences with their musical virtuosity and impeccable manners for the past two years and are the only band performing music from Shostakovich to Britney Spears on the same set!
Once the heat is built up, Don Kipper will only be adding more fuel to the fire…
Don Kipper are a multi award-winning 7-piece ensemble interpreting and transforming a wide range of traditional musical forms reflecting the cultural diversity of North East London, from Turkish and Greek Folk Musics to Romani music and Klezmer. While they attempt to root themselves deeply in the traditions that surround them, they also explore radical interpretations and taut arrangements full of complex harmonies, rhythms and imaginative improvisation. They’re equally adept at taking an intimate audience on a musical journey through Europe as we are taking their feet on a frantic journey around the dancefloor, at home both on large outdoor stages playing to a crowd of ecstatic dancers, and in sweaty tents getting the throng jumping.
Since 2013, they have released their First and Second albums, been featured on BBC Introducing and the BBC World Service, played two European Tours, and won the titles of both the Moshe Beregovski Award for best Klezmer Newcomers and World Music Network’s Battle of the Bands.
