April 2014 – DINOSARAUS
Join us at Stour Space this April for DINOSARAUS, the debut solo exhibition from photographer Sara Löfwander.
Private View: Thursday 3rd April 2014, 7-11pm
Opening Times: 4th-28th April 2014, 9am-5pm
A photo exhibition of naked self-portraits mixed with pieces of scanned nature, to gently remind people about the beauty of the natural world.
Hailing from Gothenburg, Sweden, Sara now lives and works in Hackney Wick, London.
“The exhibition DINOSARAUS features two of my greatest loves, freedom and nature. FREEDOM: Being naked in nature has always made me feel free and relaxed. As a photographer I wanted to capture this feeling of being free in images, so 3 years ago I started taking naked self-portraits on a trip to Alaska and I have been doing it ever since. NATURE: I want to make nature a more important and real element in my work for this exhibition. How? By bringing an element of real nature to the photos. The last three years I have experimented with scanned pieces of flowers and plants on top of photographs. This is what I am doing for this exhibition. The result will be a mix of free expression and fresh, beautiful nature – reflecting my vision and my aim with the series – to make people care more about nature.”
Graduating last year with a degree in Fashion Photography from London College of Fashion, Sara is now working full-time as a photographer and art director, and since graduating has had her work published online and in printed magazines.
