Green Door 2015 Launch

Green Door

Unit 15 presents our first night of live music performance of 2015:

Green Door: Hosted By Victor & The Rain Dog

In Association with Hackney WickED

Sunday 15th February
6pm till 11pm

We are changing format slightly: Coming out from behind our big Green Door and travelling all of 100 metres down the road to Stour Space who have kindly offered to host our first intimate musical gathering of 2015.

As always please feel free to invite friends along. Although we have a little more space at our new temporary home entry will be limited. Get here early as you never know what you might miss!

Hosted by:

Victor & The Rain Dog

Since Victor last played the Green Door he has released his EP, performed at Hackney WickED, made some new instruments & headlined a string of brilliant shows. His explosive performances have reached Tom Robinson’s BBC Introducing and we are looking forward to having him as our host for the evening.

-“An encounter between Carnival music and Indigenous sorcery, with a fondness for urban story-telling.”

Live music performance by:

Simo Lagwani

Simo’s New album ‘The Gnawa Berber’ was released in October 2014 under the World Music Network’s award winning label ‘Riverboat Records’ and was subsequently voted ‘best album’ for November in the World music Network charts.

Simo is becoming recognised as the outstanding musician that he is. His fan base is expanding steadily as he endeavors to spread understanding of the sacred Gnawa tradition, and to introduce his own movements of Gnawa fusion to wider audiences.

Ash Woolnough

A rare opportunity to see a solo set from Singer Songwriter from dub/rock band Solko who will be joining us with just his Stratocaster to play some songs stripped down to the bone. For those who missed Solko at Hackney WickED 2014 they are quite simply one of the best live bands in the UK at the moment having rocked festivals such as Secret Garden Party, Kendal Calling, Beat Herder and were one of the ‘Hidden Gems’ of the Soundwave festival in Croatia.

Watch/listen to their latest video for “Soulsteppa”
