This is happening at Stour Space next week, come along and join in…Informal event & free entry

Beautiful French folk music and dance, come and play, listen, dance or all three – everyone welcome. If you would like to learn some of the dance moves just ask and there will be someone to show you how!

The next Clandestine Mazurka will take place at Stour Space on Friday 29th November! What is a clandestine mazurka?

It is an time and a place when and where people gather to play french folk music and dance on those music. It is mainly composed of couple dances (Walse, Mazurkas, Skottisch, Polka, … ) but also any dance that people want to dance and musicians want to play.

It is not an organised event, just a place and time where people gather and spend a good time. It is meant to be free, and open for everyone, good dancers, people who want to try and to discover french folk dances, good musicians or people learning instruments and who want to gather more songs in their repertoires, curious people who just want to watch…

It is existing in France and Italy, where it is mainly done outside. This can be a small issue in the winter here, for the instruments, as the rapidly end up completely out of tune because of the cold and humid weather. Therefore, we aime to find some places indoors where we can be for free.

Anyone who want to spend a good time with dances and french folk music is welcome!

If you wish, please bring some food or drinks.

We hope to see many of you out there! And let’s have fun!
