SENSATIONAL REPORTAGE, the new exhibition by contemporary artist Valerie Savchits will focus on paranormal phenomena that exist outside of conventional norms, such as psychic powers, channeling, rituals and and alternate realities. The exhibition is a new series of works, comprising of 13 large scale paintings and 2 sculptures which draws inspiration from ghost stories, estrangement, interventions, and human violence and examines the conflictual relationships between religious and paranormal beliefs. The exhibition will present works which explore my perspective on the unheard, unseen and unexplained.

Valerie Savchits (Valeria Dmitriyevna Savchits) was born in Riga, Latvia and moved to the North West of England at the age of 19. Since completing her studies at University of Salford in 2016, her work has been actively exhibited in galleries and art fairs.
Savchits is the recipient of Hotel Elephant and Southwark Council Arts & Culture Grant Scheme and was selected as one of the three hundred art students to exhibit her work digitally as part of Tate Modern’s ‘Future Late’ exhibition in summer 2016 followed by another digital opportunity with Saatchi Gallery. Valerie has been featured in numerous blogs and publications including The Guardian, BBC Live, Manchester Evening News, The Resident and Art Maze Magazine.
Her work contains an element of self-discovery and evoke the frenetic and explosive energy, leaving some space for symbolism that interprets and examines artist’s work on a more intimate level.
