Stour Space is organising our own music night on 6th September bringing aPAtT and Shatner’s Bassoon for their own London show. Free entry for all, just come and enjoy!
DJs will start playing from 8pm, but do come earlier for some riverside drinks and cocktails and to catch some early evening sun!
Shatter’s Bassoon make music very much their own and lovingly influenced by artists such as Tim Berne, Mr. Bungle, John Zorn, Frank Zappa, Tyshawn Sorey and a range of rock and electronica; and with a combined experience that includes eastern European folk, Hindustani music, Brazilian music, straight ahead and free jazz, reggae, metal, contemporary classical and musique concrète; Shatner’s Bassoon have developed a unique collective sound based on developing complex compositional structures through improvisation – allowing the music to be naturally infused by their experiences. The results can range from dense free noise through intense riffs and ambient textures. They play with musical clichés and conventions to produce music that negotiates a path from the beautiful to the sinister, humorous and surreal.
A.P.A.t.T. having secured a slot on RIO festival with Gong and Faust a.P.A.t.T. will be pulling out all the stops during their 2017 tour. Performing as a 7 piece with a myriad of new material and a live set to entertain whilst generally raising eyebrows throughout. Fun With Music is their message and it’s tattooed on the back of the dog’s neck.
