03.08.16 | Heels & Souls w/ Brian not Brian B2B Danny Bushes, Mafalda + more

Join us soaking up the last of our ‘better late than never’ summer (and the beginings of 24 hour tube wibes) in Hackney Wick’s gorgeous Stour Space. Overlooking the Olympic Park from both the canal-side terrace and upstairs studio we’re dancing under, the gallery will host a day to night party through the E&S DJR400 Rotary in aid of DON’T JUST STARE – Londons new platform raising awareness for mental health illness & positive wellbeing, through creativity. Check out more about their work here –http://dontjuststare.com/

Get down early for the debut of their Creative Wellbeing Workshop, which will educate, raise awareness, reduce stigma and provide people with the right tools to look after their minds, in a non-clinical & accessible way, ending with a jazz meditation to soothe the soul.

Brian not Brian (Going Good / Sex Tags) b2b Danny Bushes (Bushes / Tunji)

Self-confessed digger obsessive’s, Brian and Danny head up Good Going and Bushes respectively. Time spent behind the counters of some of London’s finest record shops (Phonica, Kristina), and membership to DJ Sotofett’s imitable Sex Tags Mania crew attest to deep and obscure collections we can’t wait to throw shapes to.

Mafalda (Melodies / Cosmos Records)

Those frequenting London’s Cosmos Records will be familiar with Mafalda’s fantastic taste in records through the years and across the world. It’s led her to enviable heights, working at Melodies International and frequently appearing on London’s finest, NTS. Here’s a chance to enjoy her collection on the E&S.

Mr. Redley (Cafe Au Lait / Balamii)

Initially cutting his teeth on the 1’s & 2’s up in Manchester, Mr Redley’s been busy since arriving back on home turf 2 years ago. He Hosts the Café Au Lait show on Balamii alongside launching his own night – Everybody Loves To Boogie. Often focusing on Detroit and Chicago flavours, we’re excited to hear him in a broader context, drawing on sounds from South America to Africa and everything in-between.

T Dunn (Obscure)

A mainstay of the Garage and Jungle scenes of Manchester whilst a student, with resident duties for both Obscure and Hit & Run. For the 3rd, T Dunn’s putting the shells on saftey so roots, dub and rare groove expected!

Max Halstead

Max is the fella behind the gorgeous Funktion One system you’ve most likely seen at our parties. More to the point though, he’s a serious collector and beat juggler, and with nearly 20 years of mileage under his DJ belt, we’re in good hands for a Funk & Soul cruise.

From the depths of Warwickshire. Carlton has been scratching golden era hip hop and placing down Jamaican grooves for the last few years. Recently moved to London entering the scene we’re very excited to get the night started with some sunshine vibes.

Heels & Souls

You know the drill by now. Fresh from digging travels in Berlin and Amsterdam, Pat and Ben close things up with a blend of all tings circular, waxy & tasty.
